Knowing what you know now, what advice can you offer to incoming freshmen Stamps Scholars?
Invest in relationships above all else. Coursework and activities will be hectic, time-consuming and rewarding, but the relationships you build with others at your institution will last a lifetime. Cultivate those friendships and connections as you navigate college.
Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
My professors as a whole have had the greatest impact on my college experience. The Mechanical Engineering faculty at the University of Texas are very accomplished yet willing to invest significant time into student development. I have benefited greatly from their wise instruction.
Who or what is inspiring you during this trying time of COVID-19?
I’m inspired by my two sisters who are both nurse practitioners. Madison, the younger of the two, has been caring for COVID-19 patients in Houston hospitals.
During the pandemic, I’ve been getting back into running, cooking, and reading. ”
What comes next?
In October, I’ll start as an Associate in Boston Consulting Group’s Dallas office.
