ATLANTA, GEORGIA – June 2024 – The Stamps Scholars Program announces its 19th class of Stamps Scholars, comprising of 365 exemplary students from 37 esteemed partner institutions across the United States and into the United Kingdom. Chosen from a highly competitive pool of nearly 509,000 applicants, these Scholars embody a commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service.
This year’s cohort of Stamps Scholars is diverse, hailing from 39 U.S. states, 2 U.S. territories, and 13 countries, and representing a wide array of backgrounds and ambitions. Although young, many have already made significant positive impacts on their communities and have professional goals such as alleviating disparities in healthcare access, ensuring ethical use of artificial intelligence, designing and building Formula 1 racecars, engineering solutions to assist with national park conservation efforts, and performing on Broadway, to name some. They are united by their dedication to making a meaningful impact on the world at large.
The Stamps Scholarship covers up to the full cost of attendance for four years of undergraduate study at most partner institutions, along with enrichment funds for academic and professional development. These funds enable Scholars to pursue opportunities such as study abroad, conferences, internships, and research. With an estimated total value of $59.3 million over their time in school, the scholarships for this incoming class underscore the Stamps Scholars Program’s commitment to fostering future leaders.
“The Stamps Scholarship allowed me to immerse myself in multiple cultures, broadening my worldview and developing me into a capable young professional,” said U.S. Air Force Stamps alumna Allie Griffith (‘24) on the impact of the enrichment funds. “I believe my participation in international conferences, involvement in research endeavors, and the esteemed reputation of the Stamps Scholarship played a substantial role in enabling me to pursue my graduate education at Stanford University.” Griffith will begin a master’s in computer science at Stanford this fall.
Stamps Scholarships are also awarded to select rising juniors at several colleges and universities, including the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the University of Chicago, Dartmouth College, Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Georgia, the University of Michigan, and Wake Forest University.

In addition to financial support, Stamps Scholars benefit from an expansive network of peers and alumni. This network facilitates invaluable connections through regional gatherings, mentorship opportunities, a biennial Stamps Scholars National Convention, and virtual alumni panels on topics like applying to graduate school, career development, and fellowships.
“Because of the connections I made through the scholarship network, I landed internships and research positions that ultimately led to an amazing full-time offer,” said University of Florida Stamps alum Mateusz Plaza (‘24), who recently accepted a position as a software development engineer at Amazon.
Stamps alumni continue to achieve remarkable success in their post-graduate endeavors. They have received prestigious awards such as Fulbright, Gates Cambridge, Goldwater, Marshall, Rhodes, Schwarzman, and Truman Scholarships. Alumni are making significant impacts in various fields, working with top organizations like Google, Goldman Sachs, and NASA, and pursuing advanced degrees at renowned institutions such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Cambridge.
About the Stamps Scholars Program
The Stamps Scholars Program was founded by E. Roe Stamps and his late wife Penny in 2006, with the purpose of enabling extraordinary educational experiences for extraordinary students. Through partnerships with institutions across the nation (and into the U.K.), Scholars receive annual awards that range from $6,000 to $93,900 (four-year awards total an average of $24,000-$375,600) with additional funds for enrichment activities such as study abroad, academic conferences, and leadership training. The Stamps Scholars Program and partner schools evenly share the costs of the award. Penny Stamps passed away in December 2018, but her legacy continues through the Stamps Scholars community, which has grown into an international network with more than 3,600 Scholars and alumni.
