Degree: B.M.A. in Directing and Music Directing for Theatre
How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps Scholarship gave me an amazing group of friends I will always cherish, memories we’ve created together on all our Stamps outings, confidence and growth in my abilities, and the financial ability to attend my dream school and have my life forever changed as a result.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
In this very moment there is nothing to worry about. In this very moment there is nothing lacking. In this very moment there is something to be grateful for. Meditate!
Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
My professor of theatre Malcolm Tulip has shaped my thinking about the theatre and opened up my mind. He has guided my mind and body to be supple and flexible and has brought me a lifelong passion for exploring that, through theatre.
Please share your most memorable Stamps Scholar experience.
On the plane headed home to Ann Arbor, I am in the middle seat, holding hands with my two best friends, Kevin and Rebecca, smiling and content after an enlivening and inspirational 2015 Stamps Convention in Atlanta.
Plans after graduation?
I’ll be meeting some teachers of the Alexander Technique in London, backpacking through Europe, and studying yoga and the mridangam in Mysore, India.
