How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps Scholarship fundamentally changed my scholarship experience. It pulled me to a university that provided endless opportunities in itself and allowed me to focus on my education and maximizing my overall experience. Particularly, the enrichment funds gave me the opportunity to volunteer abroad on two different occasions and give back. I also was able to pursue an enriching medical experience program in Colorado which further drove me into the field of medicine.
Tell us a piece of wisdom you’ve learned over the past four years.
Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it. I think that is a quote from somewhere but I think it resonates deeply with me. It reminds me to always give 110% whether that is in school, an organization, or even in a hobby such as running.
Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
This may sound a bit cheesy, but my girlfriend, Nikou Pishevaresfahani. I met her early on in college and she always challenged me to be the best version of myself and is the most caring and smartest person I’ve ever met but is always humble and willing to help others. If I can be half the person she is, I think I’ll be ok.
What’s your favorite Stamps Scholar memory?
The 2015 convention allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals but also see the impact the Stamps Foundation has. Being able to meet the Stamps family and seeing just how many lives they have touched is unparalleled.
What comes next?
I will be attending medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine!
