Degree: B.A. in Physics
How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
Thanks to the funding from the Stamps Scholarship, I got to live out my childhood dream of interning at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, the biggest physics lab in the world. I learned a ton about particle physics, and the experience made me all the more sure that this is the kind of research I want to do throughout my career.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
Don’t hesitate to look for research opportunities. All it takes is persistence, but a lot of it.
Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
My girlfriend, Sarah Hough. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to help me develop my values, become a better version of myself, and share so many fun memories with.
What comes next?
I will be working in a physics lab at Argonne National Laboratory, in the Chicago suburbs, for the next year or so and apply to physics Ph.D. programs this fall.
