Degree: B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering
How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
Without the the Stamps Scholarship, I would not have been afforded the opportunity to go out of state to attend Georgia Tech. Going to a college where I knew absolutely no one forced me to get out of my comfort zone and have experiences I could have never imagined, such as going on a survival expedition in Belize, studying abroad in Budapest, and picking up the sport of rowing.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
I would tell myself to avoid settling for what is comfortable. Take advantage of the adventures and you never know what you might learn about yourself.
Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
During my first month at Georgia Tech, I joined the rowing team without any prior rowing experience. I have been inspired, challenged, and supported by my teammates throughout my four years here. The team opened my eyes to not only the sport of rowing, but also what it means to be a part of something much bigger than yourself.
What comes next?
I will be moving to St. Louis to work for Boeing as a Next Generation Composites Engineer!
