How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps Scholarship has given me incredible opportunities to expand my education beyond the classroom. I used my Stamps funds to create an entrepreneurial library, go on a dental mission to Honduras, and spend a month volunteering at an equine rescue in New Jersey. I would never have been able to have any of these experiences without the Stamps Scholarship, and I’m forever grateful for the diverse knowledge that the scholarship has allowed me to obtain.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
You’ll accomplish more than you’ve ever imagined, so just keep at it and don’t be afraid to chase after crazy ideas. Also make sure to get away from campus and get involved in the community because there are some incredible people beyond the WashU campus.
Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
My roommate, Sydney Katz, has had the greatest impact on me throughout my college career because she’s been there with me every step of the way. We’ve been friends since before committing to WashU, and we’ve lived together for the last three years. She’s my partner in crime for everything from workouts, to our company WOOTA, to organizing a large summit this year. I couldn’t imagine my college experience without her because she’s helped me accomplish so much and somehow kept me sane along the way.
What’s your favorite Stamps Scholar memory?
I really enjoy the Stamps Day of Service. The WashU Stamps scholars go bowling with children and adult with special needs with the St. Louis Arc, and it’s always a blast even though I lose!
What comes next?
I will be moving to Philadelphia to study dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and I hope to further my studies in bioengineering and business as well.
