How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps President’s Scholar Program at Georgia Tech allowed me to attend one of the greatest institutes in the world. The scholarship was the reason that I attended Georgia Tech and subsequently, the reason that I was able to experience all of the goodness that Tech had to offer. By allowing me to attend Georgia Tech, the Stamps Scholarship gave me a chance to meet my very best friends, further enhance my leadership skills, and explore my true passions.

Tell us a piece of wisdom you’ve learned over the past four years.
I’ve learned that you have to do what makes you happy and fulfills you. That is the most important – you must make sure that you take care of YOU. When I first came to Georgia Tech, I was so focused on my engineering studies that I lost sight of my passions outside of my schoolwork. It took me some time to realize that I needed to resume activities involving my passions for environmentalism, inclusion, and activism. Once I did immerse myself in these activities, I felt like my true self again, and this fulfillment was reflected in my improvements in my schoolwork and grades.

Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
My college experience has been shaped by so many incredible individuals with whom I’ve had the pleasure of interacting. My friends, my professors, my faculty advisors, and my employers have all helped to shape the person that I’ve grown into. I would like to give a special thank you to the GT Division of Student Life, through which I held most of my leadership positions. I’m thankful that Georgia Tech has a group of people who are SO committed to the vision of a more inclusive GT campus for the future.

What’s your favorite Stamps Scholar memory?
The 2017 Stamps Scholar National Convention was such an incredible event! It was amazing to meet and connect with so many people who have been blessed by the generosity and love that the Stamps family has shown.

What comes next?
I will be working for Georgia-Pacific as an Environmental Associate in the company’s Environmental Leadership Program.
