How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps Scholarship completely altered my course and gave me the confidence to find new experiences and make an impact on the people around me. With the Stamps Scholarship, I was able to travel to Spain and Honduras, meet other scholars from across the world, and run for student body president at a campus of 30,000+ students. I credit the Stamps family for giving me the confidence and support to succeed.

Tell us a piece of wisdom you’ve learned over the past four years.
The best leaders are not always the loudest in the room. To lead is to listen.

Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
Dr. Drew Lamonica Arms, my Stamps and fellowship advisor, has been the mentor and friend that I never imagined. She’s guided me and supported me and challenged me through every step of my journey. Without her, I would not be where I am today.

What’s your favorite Stamps Scholar memory?
At the 2013 Stamps Scholars National Conference in Michigan, the Wolverines won a March Madness basketball game to reach the championship. Stamps Scholars from every campus paraded through campus together chanting “Go Blue!” It may not be academic, but it was certainly a bonding experience that I’ll never forget.

What comes next?
I will be attending Law School at Southern Methodist University in Dallas with an interest in Intellectual Property Law.
